Inscription front: Göltzschtalbrücke (erbaut 1846-1851), Die Höhe beträgt von der Sohle des Flusses bis zur Schienenlage 78,25 m. Von dem tiefsten Punkte des Brückengrundes ca. 92 m. Länge 578 m. Verwendet wurden dazu unter anderem: 151 244 Kubikmeter Sandsteine und Granitquader. 48 525 Meter Bruchsteine, 20 Millionen Ziegel. Beschäftigt waren 1 500 Arbeiter. Die Kosten der Brücke betragen 6 599 621 Mark 62 Pf.
