Inscription front: Leipzig, Der neue Hauptbahnhof, Der neue Hauotbahnhof in Leipzig ist der größte Bahnhof Europas. Es münden 26 Gleise nebeneinander ein. Im Jahre 1902 wurde mit den Bauten begonnen. Die linke Hälfte (preußischer Teil) ist seit 1. Mai 1912 vollständig in Betrieb und von der anderen Hälfte der sächsische Teil seit 1. Februar 1913 teilweise. Die vollständige Inbetriebnahme erfolgte im Jahre 1915. Von den Gesamtkosten – ca. 150 Millionen – trägt der sächsische Staat 50 Millionen und die Stadt Leipzig ca. 17 Millionen Mark.
