Inscription back: Post C(ard), This space for (address only), The Golden Gate, High on a promontory in Lincoln Park, San Francisco, the California Palace of the Legion of Honor stands. The famed Golden Gate below, while across the strait are the Marin Hills and Mt. Tamalpais, guardian of the Pacific. To the right in the distance is Old Fort Point, erected during Civil War days. The flagpole in the foreground marks the western terminal of the Lincoln Highway. The Golden Gate Bridge spans the entrance to San Francisco Bay, and is the largest single span in the world.
