Inscription back: Das größte Denkmal Deutschlands, errichtet von dem Deutschen Patiotenbund unter dem Vorsitz des Herrn Geheimrat Thieme (Archit. Hr. Prof. Dr. ing. Schmitz). Grunsteinlegung erfolgte am 18. Oktober 1900, Schlußsteinlegung am 13. Mai 1912. Zu dem 91 Meter hohen Meisterwerk sind ca. 15 000 Kubikmeter Granit und 120 000 Kubikmeter Zementbeton verwendet wirden. Die Gesamtkosten betragen etwa 6 Millionen Mark. Mit Genehmigung des Deutschen Patriotenbundes. Trinks & Co., Leipzig-St. Nr. 1058.
