Inscription front: Göltzschtalbrücke. Eisenbahnlinie Plauen–Reichenbach i. V. Erbaut 1846/1851 durch Ober-Ingenieur Wilke u. Ingenieur Dost von 1500 Arbeitern. Verwendet wurden 26 Mill. Ziegel und 64 000 cbm. Granit-, Sand- u. Bruchsteine. Länge 578 m, Breite oben 8, unten 21 m. Höhe von der Fluss-Sohle bis zur Schienenlage 78 m, vom Brückengrund an 92 m. Baukosten 6 600 000 Mark, davon das Gerüst etwa 300 000 Mark. Jährlicher Verkehr über die Brücke rund 7 500 Schnellzüge, 13 000 Personenzüge, 14 000 Güterzüge mit zusammen etwa 36 000 Lokomotiven; Gesamtgewicht der Züge 14 bis 15 Mill. Tonnen.
